Families rarely call on a good day

The work is to take the administrative weight off that day, and to carry it correctly from there.

A stack of unopened mail marked second notice beside a mug and reading glasses on a kitchen table

A parent can no longer manage money

Bills sit unopened, the accounts look wrong, and no one in the family is willing, or safe, to take control alone.

The named trustee cannot serve

The person named in the trust has died, declined, moved away, or is too close to the beneficiaries to act without conflict.

Siblings have stopped agreeing

A neutral appointee ends the argument about who is in charge, and puts every decision on the record instead.

Someone has died and nothing is filed

Assets need locating, creditors noticing, taxes handling, heirs paying, in the order the court expects them.

There is no one else to ask

No spouse, no children nearby, no willing friend. We are appointed for exactly this, and it can be arranged years ahead.

I

Consultation

A [30–45 minute] conversation, at no charge, about what is happening and who currently holds authority. If a fiduciary is not what you need, we will say so and point you to what is.

II

Document and asset review

We read the trust, will, or power of attorney with your attorney, list assets and obligations, and put in writing what we would do and what it would cost.

III

Appointment

Authority comes either from the document, as a signed acceptance of trusteeship, or from the court, through a petition your attorney files and we support with the required filings.

IV

Administration and reporting

Bills paid, assets managed, care coordinated, and a written account delivered [quarterly / annually] to beneficiaries or the court. You always know where things stand.

What families ask first

A professional fiduciary is a licensed, bonded individual appointed to manage money, property, and care decisions for someone else, serving as trustee, conservator, executor, or agent. The role carries a legal duty of loyalty: decisions must serve the person or the beneficiaries, never the fiduciary. In California, professional fiduciaries are licensed and regulated by the Professional Fiduciaries Bureau, which requires qualifying education, an examination, a background check, and ongoing continuing education.

Name a professional when no relative is available, when the relative lives far away or lacks the time, when family conflict would make any relative's decisions suspect, or when the estate is complex enough that a mistake would be costly. Serving as trustee is real work carrying real liability, and many families choose to spare a relative from it.

A trustee's authority comes from a trust document and reaches only the assets held in that trust. A conservator's authority comes from a court order and can reach a living person's finances, their care, or both. Trusteeship is usually private; conservatorship is supervised by the court, with inventories and accountings filed for review.

Yes. Fedora Fiduciary holds California professional fiduciary licence [#0000] and maintains professional liability coverage of [$0,000,000]. Where a court appointment requires a bond, one is obtained in the amount the court sets. Client funds are held separately from firm operating accounts and reconciled monthly.

Professional fiduciary services are $225 per hour, with complex trust administration and conservatorship court matters at $250 per hour and administrative support at $125 per hour. Ongoing clients can choose a monthly care plan from $1,500 instead. The first 30-minute consultation is complimentary, and you receive a written estimate before any engagement begins.

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons we are appointed. We serve where the person or the property is located, here in Northern California, and report to family anywhere. Adult children managing a parent's care from another state receive [weekly / monthly] written updates and a direct line to the fiduciary handling the matter.

No. We work alongside them. The attorney handles the law, the CPA handles tax filings, the advisor manages the portfolio under our oversight, and we hold the authority and the responsibility for decisions. If you do not have those advisors, we can suggest several to interview, with no compensation to us either way.

Speak with us first, so we can confirm we are able to accept the appointment. Your attorney then names us using our exact legal designation: [entity or individual name, licence number, address]. We provide that language and a signed willingness to serve for your file.
